GYODER organized a "TOP MANAGEMENT MEETING FOR REITs" today to provide information about its activities regarding REITs, gather their expectations, and obtain suggestions for solutions to industry issues. At the meeting hosted by Torunlar GYO at Hilton Mall of Istanbul, GYODER President Mehmet Kalyoncu summarized the Association's activities. GYODER Vice President Sertac KARAAĞAOĞLU provided information on figures, analyses, and legal regulations concerning REITs through his presentation. The meeting also addressed various topics, including: the issue of acquired rights, the transformation of cadastral courts into real estate courts, amendments to notifications, exemptions for REITs from certain provisions of the urban transformation law, valuation issues faced by REITs in foreign sales and the need for faster accreditation of notification amendments regarding valuations, the development of solutions to support REITs and investors in increasing the use of renewable energy sources, updates in the good practices guide for better dissemination of legislation to the sector, principles of sustainability, granting citizenship rights to foreign investors who purchase REIT shares, and the different evaluation of REITs in the public sector. The views and suggestions of industry representatives were collected on these issues, facilitating information sharing for future activities.
